Default MultiScreen problems

Thanks to Deano.

This is the way to stop the extra monitor shutting down

Right click on your screen - personalise. Then click windows 7 basic.

Leave the personalise screen open

Open game.

When finished gaming - switch back to what you had before.

This will allow you to alt tab and your second screen will NOT shut down.

Anyway works for me and I have had less disconnects since. Dunno if this is coincidence.

I don't particularly agree with Atomic but can't argue with the above solution which works for me. (Deano will understand my Atomic comment)

Glad i could help set the atomic article i was talking about was in the last months help page from memory the issue is that the game bfbc2 is a memory hog on the video cards so if you are running large screen res plus a second monitor and win windows 7 with aero on the v/c seem to run out of memory trying to run all the above . So people where getting errors etc and or second screen would shut down. One of the fixes they surrgested was to flick win 7 over to basic from aero to free up more video card memory . aero themes are a memory hog on the video cards also they where saying . the guy whom wrote in trying to find out a solution to this issue was running an i7 920 o/c to 4 ghz / 6gb ddr3 ram and a ati 5870 1gb card so the system is more than capable to run anything throw at it .

hope this may help anyone with this issue also
cheers deano

Hey guys, there is an easier way than that to fix the problem.

UPGRADE TO WINDOWS XP.

I have been running Dual Screens for about 9 years and so far have found XP to be the most stable when it comes to dual screen operation.
Will have to keep that solution in the old memory bank for if I decide to change O/S to something worth it.

Yeah I had duals running on my old rig on XP and had no problems with the second monitor. I'm beginning to really like the little things Windows 7 does so can't see me going back to XP.

Thanks again Deano. I never had any errors just the second monitor would sometimes shut down. Not all the time and it didn't seem to matter whether I had a lot running or a little. It was random.

Anyway you prompted the fix and I've had no lagout issues since either but I'm not saying that is fixed yet.

Now why would any one want to DOWN GRADE to that antiquated program that is going to stop getting updates soon any way???

Ive done the old switch to basic Deano and can now alt tab in and out of BF2BC without any problems. good find mate

XP ?? Pffft LOL Sorry Tips.

XP was a good O/S but Vista is better and Windows 7 better yet again. I was running dual monitors on both Vista and now Windows 7 and didn't have any problem whatsoever until I started playing Bad Company 2.
